Together for the Gospel
Suffering: Suffer For The Gospel
But whatever things were gain to me, those things I have counted as loss for the sake of Christ.
Today, as Pastor Brian continued teaching through the book of Philippians, we were challenged to look at what we are counting on for the bottom line of our faith. Just like Paul, we must make sure that we are not depending on being religious enough or doing good works to provide real meaning for our lives. We must know Jesus personally and make our relationship with Him our #1 priority. It must be so real that we are willing to let go of all the things that stand in the way of genuinely knowing Him.
Pray for our church to focus on knowing Christ –not on religious activity. Confess where you are letting false ideas make you want to look good for your sake and not for the Gospel. Ask God to give you the courage to put knowing Him first in your life and choices. Commit to follow Christ whatever the cost.
