In this sermon, we explore the significance of timing in the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. Drawing on the passage from John 7:1-24, we examine three key aspects of Jesus’ timing: his motive, authority, and purpose.
First, we consider the motive behind Jesus’ timing. What drove him to act when he did, and why did he wait when he did? We explore the role of compassion, wisdom, and divine guidance in shaping Jesus’ actions, and how we too can learn to discern the right time to act in our own lives.
Second, we examine the authority behind Jesus’ timing. As we delve into John 7:1-24, we see that Jesus’ actions were not based on his own desires or ambitions, but were rooted in his relationship with God the Father. We explore what it means to live a life of obedience to God, and how this can give us the confidence and authority to act with purpose and conviction.
Finally, we look at the purpose behind Jesus’ timing. Using passages from 1 Samuel 16:7 and 2 Corinthians 3:4-6, we explore the ways in which Jesus’ actions revealed his belief in God’s plan for humanity. We consider how we too can align our lives with God’s purpose, and what it means to live with faith and hope in a world that often seems chaotic and uncertain.
Join us for a thought-provoking and inspiring message on the power of timing, and the ways in which we can learn from the example of Jesus Christ.
